CaoCao Inc. Releases Barrier-Free Mobility Report
Time: 2025/05/19

On May 18, coinciding with China’s 35th National Day of Assisting Disabled Persons, leading shared mobility platform CaoCao Inc. released its 2024-2025 Barrier-Free Mobility Report. As the company’s first data-driven barrier-free mobility report, it reveals a surging demand for barrier-free mobility services, not only among disabled persons but across all age groups. Seniors and young children collectively account for over 50% of users, making them the primary demographic for barrier-free mobility. Notably, female users prioritize safety, while male users emphasize service quality.

Destination analysis shows that wheelchair-accessible mobility services now cater to diverse scenarios, including dining, leisure, and entertainment. Maternity hospital-to-hotpot restaurant trips have emerged as a trending route among expectant mothers via accessible ride-hailing services, while fishing enthusiasts routinely book barrier-free vehicles for 100km excursions to reservoirs. At school gates, parents have become the top users of wheelchair-accessible mobility services for their daily school runs. During the recent Labor Day holiday, bookings for barrier-free rides surged by 41%, with top destinations including music festivals, sports events, camping, exhibitions, and boutique stores. These services save wheelchair users nearly one month of commuting time annually, continually expanding the mobility possibilities for individuals with mobility limitations.

Against the accelerating trend of population aging, the barrier-free mobility sector has emerged as a new blue ocean. By the end of 2024, China’s population aged 60+ exceeded 300 million. Combined with disabled persons, pregnant women, children, and those recovering from injuries, nearly 40% of society urgently requires barrier-free mobility services and welfare support. However, mobility-impaired individuals still face significant challenges due to inadequate infrastructure, information gaps, and service deficiencies. With its brand ethos of “Citizen-Focused Mobility Services”, CaoCao Inc. identified this societal need early and prioritized the barrier-free mobility sector, establishing a long-term care system through branded welfare strategies.

Since June 29, 2024, CaoCao Inc. has launched its “Inclusive Mobility Day” initiative. On the 29th of each month, wheelchair users receive a RMB 50 ride voucher with no restrictions for CaoCao Inc.’s Premium Accessible Fleet. By April 2025, the initiative had expanded to cities including Hangzhou, Suzhou, Dalian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Wuhan, significantly empowering individuals with mobility challenges to travel freely. In its public welfare initiatives, CaoCao Inc. remains steadfast in its commitment to social good. Thalassemia children in Baise, Guangxi embarked on a “Magic Journey” to fulfill their dreams; wheelchair-bound seniors in Dongguan nursing homes enjoyed cherry blossoms with their families; isolated elders in Guangzhou gained easier access to community hospitals; and visually impaired visitors experienced barrier-free exhibitions through tactile interactions at Hangzhou’s Tianmuli, etc. In March this year, CaoCao Inc. launched the nation’s first accessibility public welfare brand, establishing a foundation for sustainable care systems.

CaoCao Inc. has integrated barrier-free mobility services into its core ESG strategy, pioneering a hybrid solution that combines street-hailing and ride-hailing capabilities through purpose-built barrier-free vehicles. Moving forward, CaoCao Inc. will maintain its long-term commitment to philanthropy, contributing to more accessible infrastructure and fostering a warmer, more inclusive and equitable society.
