CaoCao Inc.’s “CaoCao Zhixing” Satellite Successfully Launched Marking the Beginning of a ‘Space–Air-Ground Integrated’ Safety Era for Robotaxi Operations
Time: 2025/09/25

On September 24, with the successful launch of the ‘CaoCao Zhixing’ Satellite into orbit, the Geely Constellation has completed the first phase of its deployment and will serve the Robotaxi fleet of CaoCao Zhixing — the autonomous driving platform of CaoCao Inc. This marks the further integration of aerospace technology into CaoCao Inc.'s Robotaxi ecosystem and the steady advancement of the ‘space-air-ground integrated’ future mobility blueprint.

Gong Xin, Executive Director and CEO of CaoCao Inc., the most important commercialization platform of Geely Holding Group's Robotaxi operations, once pointed out: “Safety is the core premise and ultimate test for the commercialization of autonomous driving.” To strengthen the safety barriers, CaoCao Inc. entered into a deep strategic cooperation with Geespace on July 22, jointly exploring the application of satellite communication and high-precision positioning technologies in the management of autonomous vehicle fleets. Once the satellite terminal devices are installed on the vehicles, Geespace's aerospace technology will provide two key capabilities for vehicles operating under the ‘CaoCao Zhixing’ :

Satellite communication safety redundancy: vehicles are integrated with satellite communication capabilities to ensure reliable connectivity with the control center within the operational area, which provides solid guarantees for remote monitoring, dispatching, and emergency intervention and enhances emergency response capabilities in extreme situations.

Centimeter-level positioning accuracy: by combining satellite signals with ground reference station data, along with high-precision automotive sensors, vehicle position errors can be controlled at an extremely low level, ensuring stable and reliable positioning even in severe weather conditions such as snowstorms and heavy rain.

Geespace has independently constructed and operated the Geely Constellation. Currently, the number of satellites in orbit has increased to 64, realizing real-time communication coverage of any location on the global surface except the poles. Vehicles operating under the ‘CaoCao Zhixing’ will be equipped with satellite application products and services to ensure that vehicles maintain connectivity with the control center in areas with insufficient coverage or unstable signals from traditional terrestrial networks, thereby enhancing operational safety boundaries.

The successful launch of the ‘CaoCao Zhixing’ Satellite is also an important symbol of CaoCao Inc.’s efforts in promoting the blueprint for future mobility featuring ‘space-air-ground integrated’. This blueprint aims to build a three-dimensional, all-weather, highly redundant future mobility service system that integrates ground vehicles, low-altitude aircraft, and low-orbit satellites. The Geely Constellation is the key infrastructure for this blueprint.

Leveraging Geely's strong industrial ecological advantages, the ‘CaoCao Zhixing’ is set to become the world's first mobility platform to comprehensively integrate low-orbit satellite communication and high-precision positioning technologies in Robotaxi operations. Through the integration of “space (satellite technology) and ground (vehicle intelligence)” technologies, an innovative multi-layered safety redundancy system will be established, setting a new benchmark for safety in future mobility and injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the industry.
